MiC 4.0 establishes working group for construction process interfaces

Digitalization is also gaining momentum in road construction. This increases the demands on all involved.

Different systems such as software, construction machinery, and sensors must be able to be seamlessly integrated into the construction process. This requires a continuous system landscape with uniform interfaces. In the newly founded "Construction Process Interfaces" working group, system manufacturers and construction companies are working together on open solutions to standardize data exchange in Road Construction 4.0. At the same time, the members are laying the foundation for more sustainable road construction in order to better utilize machinery, reduce traffic jams, and lower CO₂-To minimize emissions and improve quality.

The working group sees itself as the central point of contact for this topic and encourages other system providers, construction companies, and participants in the value chain to collaborate in identifying challenges and jointly developing solutions. The basis for this is an agreement on uniform interface descriptions for the exchange of construction process data. MiC 4.0 will publish and disseminate its results free of charge via www.vdmashop.de.
