MiC 4.0 at the bauma Media Dialogue
From February 18th to 19th, 2025, Dr. Darius Soßdorf and Sebastian Siegmund presented to national and international trade journalists what awaits them at the MiC 4.0 stand in Hall LAB0 at bauma. The two-day event in Munich is an ideal opportunity for exhibitors to intensely engage with the trade press in advance of bauma and announce new products and innovations in the context of the world's leading trade fair.
From April 7th to 11th, the focus at bauma will be on the new MiC 4.0-TestTool and the new Database, the two central developments for OEM manufacturers on the path to a unified data understanding in the connected construction site.
Interested trade journalists are cordially invited to the MiC 4.0 booth for a live demonstration on Monday, April 7, 2025, at 5 PM. During a personal tour of the booth, participants will learn about the benefits for both manufacturers and users in the construction process derived from the work results. There will be an opportunity to try things out for themselves. A small refreshment will also await guests.

MiC 4.0 – One Digital Language
MiC 4.0 Attachments
The MiC 4.0 working group has set a milestone in the field of attachments with version 1.0.0 of the MiC 4.0 BUS. This standard was awarded the Innovation Prize at bauma 2022 and rated with the very high „Performance Level d“ by the DGUV. Currently, MiC 4.0 has released the final version 1.0.1 after an extensive public consultation. Attachments that meet this standard are permitted to use the logo MiC 4.0-READY carry. The respective implement must be registered in the MiC 4.0 database for this purpose.
At the upcoming bauma 2025 in Hall LAB0, the team will be present with live demonstrators, allowing visitors to experience the technology up close. The „One Digital Language“ concept enables manufacturer-independent and machine-crossable combination and switching of attachments and carrier machines while maintaining all functionalities of the MiC 4.0 BUS. Interested trade journalists are cordially invited to the MiC 4.0 booth for a live demonstration on Monday, April 7, 2025, at 5 PM. During a personal tour of the stand, learn about the benefits that manufacturers and users gain from the work results for the construction process, and try out a few things yourself! Light refreshments will also be provided.
MiC 4.0 Test Tool and Database
Another central building block is the database, which allows users to retrieve data. With the MiC 4.0 Test Tool, OEMs can test their data according to ISO 15143-3. This creates a basis for illustrating and utilizing the ISO standard and the transferable data. If the machine or device in question has successfully passed a test and has been entered into the database, the manufacturer may label the product with the logo. MiC 4.0-READY mark.
Visualizing the results allows for an assessment of the performance of construction machinery data provision. The clear definition and reliable content of the data are essential for effective use. MiC 4.0 relies on manufacturer-independent and machine-spanning communication for this – „One Digital Language“.
MiC 4.0 Special Civil Engineering Equipment - New Interface
The members of MiC 4.0 have developed a new API for special civil engineering machines, which they present in detail in an explanatory video. The jointly developed 120 process data are available to users sorted according to various construction processes. In the next step, this will enable efficient and standardized use of the data.
Engagement and Co-creation
The unified understanding of data offers considerable advantages for machine users and construction companies. An explanatory video from the user's perspective describes in detail the benefits of manufacturer-independent and cross-machine communication.
Companies interested in collaborating are welcome to join the MiC 4.0 working group. You can contact the administrative office at any time. Comprehensive information on how companies can get involved and benefit from the advantages of standardized machine language can be found at mic40.org.
MiC 4.0 offers a platform for the future of the construction industry, enabling efficient and secure use of data as a common asset. „One Digital Language“ stands for a new era of collaboration and innovation.
