MiC 4.0 - One Digital Language
MiC 4.0 attachments
The MiC 4.0 working group has set a milestone in the field of attachments with version 1.0.0 of the MiC 4.0 BUS. This standard was awarded the innovation prize at bauma 2022 and was awarded the very high "Performance Level d" by the DGUV. MiC 4.0 has just published the final version 1.0.1 following an extensive public consultation. Attachments that meet this standard may carry the MiC 4.0-BUS READY logo. To do so, the respective attachment must be entered in the MiC 4.0 database.
At the upcoming bauma 2025 in Hall LAB0, the team will be represented with live demonstrators that will allow visitors to experience the technology up close. The "One Digital Language" concept enables the manufacturer-independent and cross-machine combination and exchange of attachments and carrier machines while retaining all the functionalities of the MiC 4.0 BUS. Interested trade journalists are cordially invited to the MiC 4.0 stand for a live demonstration on Monday, April 7, 2025, at 5 pm. As part of a personal tour of the stand, find out how manufacturers and users benefit from the work results for the construction process and try out a few things for yourself! You can also expect light refreshments.
MiC 4.0 test tool and database
Another central component is the database, which enables users to retrieve data. With the MiC 4.0 test tool, OEM manufacturers can test their data in accordance with ISO 15143-3. This creates a basis for illustrating the ISO standard and the transferable data and making it usable. Once the machine or device in question has successfully passed a test and been entered into the database, the manufacturer can label the product with the MiC 4.0-READY logo.
The visualization of the results makes it possible to assess the performance of the data provision of construction machinery. The clear definition and reliable content of the data are essential for effective use. MiC 4.0 relies on manufacturer-independent and cross-machine communication - "One Digital Language".
MiC 4.0 special civil engineering equipment - New interface
The members of MiC 4.0 have developed a new API for specialist civil engineering equipment, which they present in detail in an explanatory video. The jointly developed 120 process data are available to users sorted according to various construction processes. In the next step, this will enable efficient and standardized use of the data.
Commitment and co-design
The uniform understanding of data offers machine users and construction companies considerable advantages. An explanatory video from the user's perspective describes in detail the advantages of manufacturer-independent and cross-machine communication.
Companies that are interested in participating are cordially invited to become part of the MiC 4.0 working group. You can contact the office at any time. At mic40.org, there is comprehensive information on how companies can get involved and benefit from the advantages of the standardized machine language.
MiC 4.0 offers a platform for the future of the construction industry, enabling data to be used efficiently and securely as a common asset. "One Digital Language" stands for a new era of collaboration and innovation.
